A third-generation turkey farmer, Barclay first joined Granny’s Co-operative in 1996. He has served as a Board member since his election in 2003, and was appointed to Vice-President in 2010.
His lifelong profession continues to provide him with the country lifestyle, freedom and quiet living he and his wife Shelley enjoy very much. Their Arborg-area farm is a family affair in the truest sense, with both his son Brendan working in the daily operations, and his parents lending a hand.
When not hard at work, Barclay enjoys curling, golf and taking to the open road for a motorcycle ride with family and friends. He actively serves as a member of his church council after previously sitting on the Boards of his local curling club, the recreational centre, Ukrainian dance troupe, and as a Board of Director on the Borage Growers Association.
Barclay’s favourite dinnertime dish is a well-seasoned, juicy Granny’s turkey breast, grilled to perfection on the barbecue.
