Meet the members of our management team, each of whom is dedicated to providing quality products that meet our consumers' needs at every level of our organization.
Craig Evans - Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Craig is responsible for the overall management and growth of Granny’s Poultry Cooperative. He joined the company in January 2008, bringing with him 25 years of agribusiness and food manufacturing expertise in management, human resources, marketing and customer relations. Under his leadership, Granny’s has increased its customer focus and Craig has restructured the business to bring in new skills and capabilities to that end. He also engineered an agreement with the University of Manitoba’s Richardson Centre for Functional Food and Nutraceuticals, securing funding for the research and development of functional poultry, with the first products expected in 2010.
Craig began his agribusiness career 1982 with Maple Leaf Foods, where he was a top salesperson, gaining a diverse knowledge of food production from gate to plate. He has worked for some of the country’s biggest industry names, including Monsanto Canada, where he honed his business strategy, marketing and technology development skills. He presently serves on the executive of the Canadian Egg and Poultry Processors’ Council and on the Board of Manitoba Artists in Healthcare.
Craig holds an MBA from Queen’s University and also is a graduate of the University of British Columbia. He also has many public speaking engagements to his credit. For Craig, there is nothing better than a slow roasted Granny’s whole turkey during the holidays; the smell and taste brings back so many great memories of friends and family.
