Randy, a poultry producer since 1976, appreciates the benefits that farming has on the body and spirit, including the gratitude that comes from putting in a good day’s work or the serenity of walking back from the barn on a crisp winter’s night.
First elected to Granny’s Board of Directors in 1985, Randy was chosen President four years later and continues to serve in that capacity to this day. In addition to providing leadership to Granny’s, he has lent his expertise to other community co-ops, has been involved in church administration for over three decades and has become President of a local seniors housing corporation.
At home, Randy is an avid reader, movie fan and golfer (at least he tries!) and is a new convert to Nintendo Wii games. The Schroeder family enjoys preparing a variety of Granny’s Poultry recipes and have recently tried their hand at making homemade turkey sausages.
