Health & Safety Officer
As the part-time Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for collecting information from Risk Assessments and developing Safe Work Procedures to minimize or eliminate illness or injury in the workplace.
As the successful candidate, you will have the following qualifications:
- Enrollment in or completion of Occupational Safety and Health
- Good communication skills (both written and oral)
- A minimum of one year prior related work experience
- Good computer skills (Microsoft word and excel)
- Current training or certification in First Responder is an asset
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible to:
- Provide first aid in emergencies
- Act as a resource to supervisors and management on occupational health and safety issues
- Create a Critical Job Inventory and assess the risks associated with those jobs
- Develop Safe Work Procedures
- Assist with the formulation of new policies and updates to existing policies
