Winnipeg, MB – (June 23, 2010) – Manitoba Homecoming 2010, Granny’s Poultry Cooperative and the Manitoba Turkey Producers are bringing families together this fall.
BRING YOUR FAMILY HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS is an exciting contest that was recently launched by the three organizations.
“Coming home is what Manitoba Homecoming is all about,” said Kevin Walters, Executive Director, Manitoba Homecoming 2010. “Thanksgiving is the perfect time to gather family and friends and we want to make it easier for a lucky Manitoba family.”
To enter the contest, people are asked to visit Granny’s website www.grannys.ca and submit a short story describing why this would be a special time to bring loved ones home or share the best/worst Thanksgiving experience.
The winner will receive airfare to fly two family members home to Manitoba from anywhere in Canada for Thanksgiving dinner. The winning family will also receive an in-home, gourmet Thanksgiving dinner catered for up to 18 people with turkey and all the trimmings prepared by Granny’s resident Chef Jason Wortzman.
“The lucky winners will also enjoy some of Granny’s new, nutritious and delicious poultry products which will be launched this fall,” says Chef Wortzman, whose recipe ideas can be found on the new website which went live last month in celebration of Granny’s logo makeover.
“In addition, nine lucky winners will each win a pair of tickets to Winnipeg’s own Crash Test Dummies Homecoming concert on October 9th at the Burton Cumming Theatre,” said Walters. “The band has a special treat for Winnipeg, performing with members of the original line up (Brad Roberts, Dan Roberts, Ellen Reid and Mitch Dorge) as well as long-time collaborators Murray Pulver and Stuart Cameron.” Concert tickets will be given away over the summer by participating radio stations.
Contest deadline is August 31, 2010. For more information visit www.grannys.ca.
